Heat Controller HTD Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost sensor control board determines when to initiate the defrost cycle which actually helps to keep your outdoor unit from plugging up. The defrost sensor board relies on a defrost sensor located near the condenser to make the decision on when the defrost cycle should begin.
Indications of a dying AC defrost sensor board
- The system may not operate for the simple fact of lack of airflow through the outdoor unit
- Defrost session never runs especially when there is a rather large amount of frost that has built up
- The main board may show an alphanumeric error code produced when the defrost board is bad
