A thermistor is a certain type of resistor which has a resistance that will fluctuate depending on the temperature at its location. They tell the HVAC system when a temperature in increasing or decreasing. The main control board must know the temp in certain areas to do its job as it should.
Simple indications of a faulty thermister
- The entire system may not initiate the starting sequence depending on which is the damaged thermistor
