A basic electrical transformer is a regular occurrence in most things electrical which includes your forced air system as it changes a normal current of electricity to an altered voltage to be used for some particular device. If you need a transformer, it would be good to get one that is measured to the right voltage that will be demanded by the device. Heating and cooling transformers can have different specs and you should make yourself aware of the exact volts called for with the original.
