The control board is created to command everything including the gas valve, the igniter, all the sensors as well as the air circulator all together. It is impossible for your furnace or air handler to even run at all without the board correctly installed. The brand of board you choose is supposed to have a part number that matches the brand and the model of furnace or air handler you have. Be very careful when you are choosing a replacement board because of the many variances of models and types.
Simple indications of a weak International Comfort Products control board
- The AC or furnace does not initialize whatsoever
- Everything has to be turned off and back on a lot for the furnace or AC to kick on
- There may be a strange type of error code revealed somewhere on the circuit board
