This heat element lets the air be heated prior to being scattered through the ducts. Your heating system cannot possible make any normal amount of heat for an entire house if the heat element will not work right.
Simple indications to watch for in a failing heat element
- Furnace element will not heat up to the desired temperature because it is probably worn out
- Heat is not being made by the system for an extended period of time
- The piece appears worn out, quite rusty and falling apart
