The compressor fan motor has a specific duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat energy has to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The unit may be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this will reduce install time and reduce the price overall. Please make sure the new motor has the same voltage and amperage listed as on the current fan motor.
