In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, which has a resistance that changes as it depends on temperature at its location. They can tell the system control board when a temperature reaches a certain point. The system control board needs to know the temperature in some specific areas of the system to do its job as it should.
What are some indications that my thermister is almost dead?
