In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a type of resistor which has a resistance that is dependent on the heat. They tell the main board when the temperature has been reached. The system needs to know the temperature in a few critical areas to be sure everything is going well.
Important signs your thermister is going to die
- Main blower could never begin in its attempt to engage full speed
- The entire system may not operate due to a broken thermistor
