International Comfort Products GDE100F14G1 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor that has a fluctuating resistance that fluctuates depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They tell the system control board when a temperature has been reached. The system control board deciphers the temp in several different areas to ensure that things are as they should be.
Red flags the system thermister is dying
- Main blower could fail in its attempt to ramp up
- The AC and heat system could possibly not operate because of the broken thermistor
