International Comfort Products GDE100F20G1 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose rated resistance changes as it depends on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The furnace or AC needs to know the temperature in some specific areas of the system to make sure everything is running smoothly. They convey to the circuit board when a certain temperature in increasing or decreasing.
Signs of a barely functioning thermister
- The initial sequence could possibly not operate because of the inaccurate thermistor
- The system blower could possibly fail in the attempt to begin full speed blowing
