The system will cease to activate lest the circuit board is accurately installed and configured. The control board is made to control the gas valve, the igniter, most sensors as well as the air circulator all in one unit. You should always be careful upon choosing a board as a replacement due to so many small differences in brands, models and types of systems. The board you choose should match both the brand and model of the unit in question.
What warnings are present when my main board is on its last leg?
- Power to the circuit board has to be turned off and back on often for it to kick in
- AC or heating system will not operate properly
- There is some sort of code being displayed somewhere on the board
