The flame sensor is a safety feature that will reliable sense the proper flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As with most safety features, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the system remains completely shut down until obstacle is corrected.
How do you know if your flame sensor has a need to be replaced?
- The furnace is unwilling to generate heat whatsoever
- System will run on certain occasions only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
- Any type of gas that has entered the furnace refuses to try to properly ignite and shuts off
