A flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will consistently detect the exact flame in accordance with the initial ignition sequence. For obvious reasons, if the sensor get triggered everything comes to a halt until the problem is repaired.
What are the indications that my flame sensor is almost going bad?
- The furnace will work rarely but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- The gas furnace will not even begin to start no matter what
- The gas that has entered the furnace has difficulty trying to properly ignite and closes down
