In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose resistance is directly proportioned to heat. The system control board deciphers the temp in certain areas to make sure everything is running smoothly. They inform the circuit board when a temperature in increasing or decreasing.
What red flags are there that my all-important thermister has a need to be replaced?
- Blower fan fails in the attempt to ramp up
- The initial sequence may not initiate the starting sequence due to any one thermistor that is the problematic one
