International Comfort Products H8MPL100J20B1 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor which has a resistance that will fluctuate depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The system control board must know the temp in several different areas to do its job correctly. They tell the circuit board when a certain temperature has been reached.
What are the indications that my thermister is about to go out?
- The main fan may refuse to begin to ramp up to full speed
- No component could never start up due to a thermistor that has failed
