In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a specific kind of resistor whose rated resistance is dependent on the thermal temperature. The main control board interprets the temperature in order to ensure that things are as they should be. They convey to the main board when the temperature reaches a certain point.
What are the indications that my thermister is crapping out?
