A normal limit switch has a sensor in the heat exchanger that makes the determination when the heated air is warmed to a point that it can be circulated throughout the house. The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is not warm enough the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.

- The system is beginning to initiate and then stops from time to time
- The HVAC system will not start nor will it stay running longer than 10 minutes
