If you are going to replace a transformer, make sure you buy the one that is assessed for the correct voltage that you need replaced. Heating and cooling transformers can all be different and you should make yourself aware of the exact volts called for with the original.
General warnings of a declining electrical transformer
- Zero power is measured from the output of the HVAC transformer using a voltmeter
- Wrongly displayed volts is measured across the system transformer
- The transformer looks cracked or could smell like its burning while electricity is running through it
