The heat element forces the air to be heated prior to the blower having it distributed through the ducts. Your heating system is unable to produce nearly enough heated air for the house if the heating element is damaged.

- The heat element does not heat up or not hot enough to generate heat because it is probably worn out
- Little to no heat being turned out by your furnace for an extended period of time
- The element seems to be old, quite rusty and looks like it should be replaced
