A basic electrical transformer is used in many applications including your HVAC system as it usually converts electricity from 120V to 24V, for example. If you have to replace a transformer, be sure to purchase a transformer that is correctly assessed for the right voltage value that is needed. Heating and cooling transformers may have specific specs so make sure you meet the necessary voltage readings.

- Extremely low voltage leaving the transformer at all
- The main transformer looks as if it has melted slightly or may smell burnt when it has electricity going through it
