A flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will dependably sense the acceptable flame while the system is starting. Due to safety concerns, if the sensor produces an error everything stops until the problem is repaired.
Indications the International Comfort Products flame sensor will have to be replaced
- The gas entering the furnace has a tough time trying to burn no matter what
- The heating system runs occasionally when the time is right
- The heating system will not produce any heat and produces an error code on the circuit board
