The control board is designed to direct the gas valve, the igniter, all the various sensors as well as the blower all at once. Your air handler will be unable to operate whatsoever without the control board in connected and operational. Be absolutely sure when you choose a replacement due to the vast differences in certain brands. The selected board must have a matching part number consistent with the brand and the model of your heating and cooling system.
