A normal limit switch is a switch in the air handler that makes the determination if and when the air is warmed to a point so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
Important clues to watch for in a failing limit type switch
- The HVAC system is beginning to behave differently time after time
- Your International Comfort Products system will not begin or will not stay running like it is supposed to
