A conversion kit could allow a furnace to convert burning from an expensive source to something different, such as from oil to propane that needs to be delivered or any other source depending on your needs. Conversion kits are limited and are not made for all furnaces. They are only available for those specific systems that are designed with converting in mind. If you go ahead and buy one online it may be better to have it set up by someone in the HVAC field, for obvious safety reasons.
