International Comfort Products NTP6100GFG1 Limit Switch
The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that decides if and when the air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
Important clues of a failing limit switch
- The heating and cooling system refuses to start or run longer than 10 minutes
- The HVAC system is starting to erratically occasionally
