International Comfort Products NUGM100EHB1 Limit Switch
The limit switch contains a sensor in the air handler that decides if and when the air is actually warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
Symptoms limit switch is dying
- Your system is beginning to ramp up but then stops often
- The heating and AC system refuses to kick in nor will it stay running longer that five minutes
