International Comfort Products PAF Defrost Sensor Board

The defrost sensor control board will determine when to initiate the defrosting phase in order to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. It is relayed information from a defrost sensor located near the condenser to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.

What signals that my defrost sensor board has a need to be replaced?

The system will cease to operate at all because of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
The HVAC system control board might issue a type of error code referring to a bad defrost board
The defrost sequence never initiates especially when there is a rather large amount of frost that needs to be removed
