A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the air handler that senses, or governs, when the air is warmed to a point for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is not warm enough then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
What are the signs that the main limit switch is dying?
