A basic electrical transformer is used frequently in anything electrical which includes your forced air system as it changes a normal current of electricity and switches it to a different voltage range. Transformers are specialized components so be sure you replace it with the same voltage readings. If a replacement is necessary, then make sure to get one that is rated for the voltage that is needed.
