International Comfort Products PGC060K100A Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor that has a fluctuating resistance that will fluctuate depending on the heat. They tell the system control board when the temperature reaches a certain point. The heating system must know the temp in some specific areas of the system to understand what is going on.
What signals that my all-important thermister needs replacing?
- Primary blower could fail in the attempt to begin full speed blowing
- The entire system may not even begin to function depending on which is the thermistor that is the problematic one
