A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch in the air handler that can determine if and when the air is warmed to a point so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
