The flame sensor is a vital part that senses the proper flame when igniting the system. As with other safety devices, if the flame sensor gets set off the gas valve is shut off and the system halts until the problem is repaired.
Simple signals the primary flame sensor will not last the year
- Your furnace will not start operating and spits out an error code on the main board
- The gas has a tough time trying to start an ignition sequence and the whole system shuts down
- The furnace will sometimes work infrequently at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
