International Comfort Products PGMD42H060A Limit Switch
The limit switch has a sensor in the air handler that senses, or governs, if and when the air is warmed to a point that it can be circulated throughout the house. Limit switches are built because if the warmed air is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
What are the clues to watch out for to know my limit switch really needs to be replaced?
- The heating and cooling system will not begin the ignition sequence or continue to run even though max temp has not been reached
- The system is beginning to ramp up but then stops repeatedly
