International Comfort Products PGS036L080F Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, because as the compressor gets hot the heat must be dispelled into the air. Please make sure you find one with the correct voltage and correct amp current as on the current fan motor. The unit may be replaced as a whole unit with the blade or by itself, which this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and helps you save some money.
Clues to watch for to know the cooling fan motor should be replaced
- A terrible screeching sound while the motor speeds up
- The cooling motor begins to smoke or sparks when it begins to turn
- The International Comfort Products cooling motor fails to spin the blade
