International Comfort Products PH5560AKA1 Flame Sensor
The flame sensor is only used on furnaces that burn gas and is one that can reliably detect the acceptable flame while the system is starting. As you could guess, if the sensor produces an error the whole HVAC system will remain stopped until that particular problem is fixed.
How do you know if your safety flame sensor is on its last leg?
- The gas furnace will not ramp up and shows an error code on the board
- HVAC system will work intermittently when it wants to
- The propane or natural gas has a tough time trying to start an ignition sequence and shuts off
