A vent blower, aka draft inducer, is only one of a myriad of other safety gadgets on your furnace.The vent motor is meant to prevent accidents and its job is to redistribute air and dangerous gases out of the furnace.
Major clues of an unhealthy primary draft inducer
- Draft vent motor will not run at the beginning of the onset of the startup sequence
- Plenty of power supplied to the motor but the motor does nothing
- The main air circulating motor fails to initialize
