A normal limit switch is a switch located in the furnace that senses, or governs, when the heated air is actually warm enough for the air to begin normal home circulation. Limit switches were created due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
Some warnings of a faulty limit switch
- The whole system is starting to act weird more than once
- The heating and cooling system will not initiate or run well longer than 10 minutes
