A transformer is used frequently in anything electrical including your AC or furnace and it transforms household electrical current from one that is higher to a lower voltage. If a transformer needs replacing, make sure to purchase on that is rated for the correct voltage that is essential for the system to run properly. Heating and cooling transformers could have a certain criteria so make sure you meet the electrical requirements.
Clues of an ineffective converting transformer
- Incorrect voltage is found from the output of the system transformer
- Not a single volt measured from the system transformer at all
- The main transformer physically appears cracked or smells burnt when it has electricity going through it
