The control board is constructed to operate the gas valve, the ignition igniter, all the sensors and the blower all in one unit. Your system definitely will not run at all unless the control board is configured and seated properly. The chosen circuit board is supposed to have a part number that matches both the brand and specific model of your particular system. Be very careful when you are choosing a replacement board because of the many variances of HVAC systems.
