A transformer is commonplace in many manufactured goods including your AC or furnace as it is mainly used to alter electricity output to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. Heating and cooling transformers are all different so make sure you meet the voltage and amperage needs. If you need to replace one, be sure to replace it with one that is properly rated for the exact voltage that is needed.

- Extremely low voltage leaving your transformer while tested with the unit on
- Inexact volts can be measured from the output of the main transformer
- System transformer physically looks damaged or could smell like its burning when being used
