The main reason limit switches are made is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that makes the determination if and when the air is warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
