International Comfort Products TCA018AKA1 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor that has a fluctuating resistance that fluctuates depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. They inform the heating and cooling system when the temperature has been reached. The heating system deciphers the temp throughout the whole system to make a decision on what needs to be done.
What red flags are there that my system thermister really needs to be replaced?
- Primary blower could never begin in the attempt to engage full speed
- The entire system may not even begin to function due to a problematic thermistor
