Limit switches exist due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts. A normal limit switch is a switch located in the furnace that decides when the air is warm enough for the air to begin normal home circulation.
What warnings should I watch out for to know if my main limit switch has to be replaced?
- The heating and cooling system will not begin the ignition sequence nor will it stay running even though max temp has not been reached
- The whole system is starting to runs spotty on more than one occasion
