A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that can determine if and when the air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the warmed air is too cool the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
