The flame sensor is one of the safety features that will dependably sense the correct flame while the system is starting. For obvious reasons, when the sensor is triggered by an event everything comes to a halt until the main issue is remedied.
Important clues of a dying flame sensor
- The unit will sometimes work rarely but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- The gas that has entered the furnace refuses to try to ignite and the main board displays on error code
- The heat system is unable to even begin to start whatsoever
