The control board is made to command everything including the gas valve, the igniter, the flame sensor as well as the air circulator all together. Most systems will not function unless the control board is hooked up and is correctly configured. Any control board you choose should have a replacement part number that matches both the make and model of the unit in question. Be absolutely sure when you are choosing a replacement board due to differences in particular brands and their models.
Key indicators that my control board is crapping out?
- The system board has to be powered down and back up a lot in order to continue running
- Air conditioner or furnace does not start period
- When turned on, there is a certain error code revealed somewhere on the board
