International Comfort Products TXA224AKA1 Limit Switch
One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch is a switch in the heat exchanger that makes the determination when the air is warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
Simple indications of a failing limit type switch
- The HVAC system refuses to kick in or will not stay running even though max temp has not been reached
- The system begins to initiate and then stops from time to time
