The filter in the wall unit is responsible for removing small dust molecules and other unwanted bits from the air in the house. This filtering system will help protect the unit and make it operate more efficient while also filtering the dust out of the air you breathe all day. Because of this, the filter should probably be exchanged or simply cleaned periodically in order to keep things clean.
Indications of a bad primary air filter
- It is greatly recommended to replace your air filter every 90 days in order to have cleaner breathable air inside
- It looks dusty and replacing it would be best soon
- If you place a light source behind it, the light cannot shine through to the other side of the dirt filled filter
