The heat element causes the air to be heated up prior to being spread throughout the house. Your furnace will not be able to supply the heated air to efficiently heat, if the heat element is faulty.
Red flags the heating element will need replacing
- Furnace element can not heat up or not warm enough to produce heat anymore
- Furnace element looks like its wearing through, rusty and in rough shape
- Lack of heat turned out by your HVAC system whatsoever
