An ignition control board controls the natural gas, the ignition timing and some more sensing equipment. It is an important electronic circuit board that, in most cases, has become a part of the main control board for safety reasons.
Cues of a poorly working ignition board
- Initial ignition sequence will not fire up when it receives a proper signal
- Initial communication from the remote thermostat never gets to the main control board
- Everything else in the system checked out to be just fine
